The Girls on the Run 5k took place on November 18th in Forest Park. There were 22 runners from CCE, 11 of which were students grades 3rd through 5th. Everyone did an amazing job this season and it was great to celebrate with them at this race! Mark your calendars for Spring Registration for GOTR which starts January 16th! Email dosterkamp@elsberry.k12.mo.us for more information about getting involved.

Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Gomel generously donated all cash profits from the book fair back to our students through the Friends of Elsberry Literacy. The Friends of Elsberry Literacy is fully funded by donations and 100% of the money goes to free books for all students in the Elsberry R-2 School District. The mission is to get books into every household. Thank you for supporting the book fair to make this possible!
If you would like to know more about the Friends of Elsberry Literacy please contact Karin Busiere at kbusiere@elsberry.k12.mo.us.

Thank you Mrs. Heras for providing such a wonderful concert again this year! It is always a show to remember!

CCE will once again be selling gift cards as a fundraiser this holiday season. We hope that you will order any gift cards that you might need through this program to earn money for our school. You pay the face value for the gift card (no extra expense to you) and our school earns the percentage listed next to the gift card. Order forms were sent home with students and will be available in all three building offices. We will also accept orders from community members. All orders and payment are due by Thursday, December 14 with delivery on Wednesday, December 20. Thank you for your support!

Friday, December 8 is Evaluate Day. Our students bring us plenty of joy so we are celebrating by wearing Christmas Colors. Find your favorite holiday shirt or your best red and green ensemble!

Thank you Mrs. Clote for sharing some photos from your first grade Thanksgiving feast.

NHS wants to thank the Girls on the Run group for their generous donation to Operation Backpack. Currently Operation Backpack is providing 100 bags weekly to Elsberry students. If you would like to make a financial or food donation to Operation Backpack please contact Jill Koch, NHS sponsor, at jkoch@elsberry.k12.mo.us or ext. 254.

Santagram sales start this week! All orders are due by December 13. All proceeds support the Friends of Elsberry Literacy. Email kbusiere@elsberry.k12.mo.us if you have any questions.

Don't forget to make plans to attend the annual Holiday Concert! Treblemakers Honor Choir and students in grades K-3 will be participating in the show.
Mrs. Heras said of course, students can wear anything to the concert, but if they'd like to be a little more creative, here is an idea for each grade level. Kindergartners could wear green or dress like a Christmas tree. 1st graders could wear antlers or dress like a reindeer. 2nd graders could wear red and white or dress like a candy cane. 3rd graders could wear white or dress like a snowflake. Treblemakers students should wear white tops and black bottoms. See you at the show!

Next week is the annual Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair is open Nov. 28-Dec. 1, from 7:15 a.m.-3:45 p.m. The book fair will also be open on Thursday after the holiday program.

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you all enjoy time with family and friends over the holiday.
School resumes Tuesday, November 28.

Don't forget, see you Monday!

Ms. Amey's class got a special police car tour last week.

Add this food drive to your shopping list this weekend. Girls on the Run has a service learning project happening now through November 16. All nonperishable food items donated will be used by our operation backpack program that directly helps Elsberry students and families.
Great ideas for donations include single serving, easy for kids to prep, food items such as peanut butter, pop tarts, granola bar, ravioli, spaghetti o's, fruit cups, applesauce, and jelly. Thanks for supporting this food drive!

The boil order continues for Friday, November 10. Please make sure you send a water bottle, or two, with your child. Please note, there will also not be water available in the cafeteria like the students are accustomed to during lunch.

We would like to honor our own Veteran that serves the ESD daily. We are honored to have Veteran and SRO Julie Conner in the building. If you see SRO Conner make sure you tell her thank you her service in the United States Army 31B Military Police from Jan. 2007- July 2017.

If you did not receive both a text message and phone call from the school yesterday in regards to the unexpected early dismissal, please contact the office to update your contact information.
