Anxiety and Depression
This presentation will cover the signs and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma and their overlap in youth. We will be discussing identification, interventions, resources, and skills to support youth in navigating difficult emotional and mental health issues.


Did you make a goal to get healthier in the New Year? Do you want some accountability to get moving? Do you want to help make an impact in the lives of girls in grades 3-5? Then we have some good news! Girls on the Run is looking for volunteers who are interested in coaching for the Spring 2024 season.
It's free to join and the practice schedule is flexible. No training is required and you don't even have to be a staff member to coach - just over the age of 16. If you want more information please contact Danielle Osterkamp at dosterkamp@elsberry.k12.mo.us

Due to forecasted road conditions the Elsberry R-2 School District will release at 1 p.m. today, Friday, January 12. All afterschool activities, Homecoming, E2, and Explorer's Club are cancelled.
The basketball game vs. Louisiana will be postponed until Monday, January 15 at 5:30 p.m. Homecoming has been rescheduled for February 9 vs. Mark Twain.

Phone and Technology Addiction
Research has been done on smartphone/technology usage and its impact on all adolescents for so many years. It is not a new issue at all. But the increasing trend of cell phone addiction and poor psychological and physiological health of adolescents is a reality we are facing as parents. Let’s learn how to recognize the symptoms and help our teens overcome their smartphone/technology addiction.

Challening Behavior and Effective Discipline
Behaviors are a form of communication, sometimes these behaviors are challenging which can lead to frustrations with parents and children. In this session we will learn ways to reduce frustrations and support your child with self regulation using acceptance, communication, calming and coping strategies.

ADHD Parent and Professional Panel
It seems like ADHD diagnoses are on the rise and ADHD is having a large impact on the daily lives of children and families. How do families cope? What works well; what doesn’t? Is medication the only answer? How do you navigate medication? You are not alone. Come interact with a panel of honest parents, teachers, and community members for a discussion about ADHD in families.

Your child is invited to participate in this year’s Mini Cheer Clinic hosted by EHS Cheerleaders!
Who: Students in Pre-K through 6th grade.
When: February 3, 2024 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
What: Your child will learn a cheer, jumps, and a crowd involvement cheer that they will perform during the JV/V Boys game on Tuesday, February 6th.
Cost: The cost of the clinic is $35.00, cash or checks are accepted. Checks need to be made out to Elsberry R-II. Participants will receive a t-shirt and bow to wear the night of the game. They will also get a snack and drink the day of the clinic.
How do I enroll? Please fill out the form below and turn it in with the clinic cost to your child’s teacher by Friday, January 26, 2024. No late forms will be accepted - we are not ordering extra bows or t-shirts.

Teachers were very busy learning today and preparing for our students to return tomorrow. The learning blueprint, trauma informed teaching, the science of learning, finalizing grades and goal setting kept our staff busy today. We can't wait to start 2nd semester! School resumes Wednesday, January 3.

Ms. Amey shared some photos from their Balloons over Broadway literature activity. Students created "balloons" and did a parade through the hallway.





Mrs. Ross challenged her students to create a shelf for an elf. Engineering projects include critical thinking, problem solving and reflection.
